To our dearest Allison,
Okay, so it is really that fast and now we are already at four? I did not expect that, honestly. I kinda feel that it was just yesterday when I wrote a post on your 3rd Birthday.
In fact, I cannot believe that we are already at four - it just sounds so fast. You are really speeding up there, Allison and how I wish I can slow you down a little bit, kinda like shifting you to first gear as you are already kicking it in fourth gear, if you know what I mean.
Nevertheless, to sum up this past year, I can really say that you really had a great one!
This year has been filled to the brim with everything under the sun and also brought so many changes. You have grown and matured and got easier and harder, all at the same time. I will admit that whatever "Daddy Skills" I have added to my arsenal, for sure it was really outmatched by your fast growing personality - it was big the year the before and now, it became BIGGER!
I have said before that you are many shades of shy when it comes to other people. This past year, I guess you are still that shy kid, however, you are really starting to become a social butterfly little by little. Your social skills are really picking up lately and I can see through it all that you have the friendliest heart. It is a good thing, really, but somehow it kinda worries me. Well, that is just your protective Dad talking, so don't mind that, LoL!
You were a talkative kid last year and still it has not changed, in fact, you become more talkative this year that when you are in a roll, you can talk fast ala Gloc-9 or Jason Mraz that we cannot seem to keep up. Now, when you are not talking, you sing a song - whether a song you know, or even a made-up song. Could you believe that? (Keep it up Allison, and I am sure you can be a singer and songwriter at the same time - am I wishing THAT hard!). The only sure time that you are quiet is when you are asleep, and even in sleep, you do mumble. You become a great conversationalist that you can talk about anything at any time. You become also good at listening to adult conversation and even learned a lot from it - you really are Allie the Sponge!
Now, we all know that will all good traits, there are also some "not so good" ones. This year your tantrums have ramped up a *BIG* notch that it becomes a disaster and chaos ensues when you do one. Getting you scolded is not a good thing either because not only do you do your patented "Rawr", you also throw up a fit and things go flying around the house. With all the patience me and your mom has, I guess we need a spare tank of patience this time around just to keep it all in check. The good thing about you though is that, you know how to make it up to us when you do those "not-so-good antics" of yours and when you do, everything negative in the air melts away.
You had so many things this year that were firsts -
First Summer Camp:
First School Awards:
First Time doing a Cosplay and going to a convention:
First United Nations participation (and even scoring a best in National Costume award):
First Time Flower Girl:
Such a really full-packed year for you, Allison. God has blessed you with a good year my sweet daughter and you owned the year like the Fourth of July - Explosively!
You are just the happiest, craziest, smiley-est, most exhausting, and incredibly smart little 4-year-old girl I know. Your Mom and I can't even put into words how much we absolutely love every little inch of you. We pray for you constantly. You are one of the best blessings in our life and we just can't wait to see what God has planned for you as you turn four.
To close this one out, and wish for a new and exciting year ahead of us, I will use a line delivered by the character "Joy" from one of your favorite animated features this past year, "Inside Out"
"All right everyone, fresh start! We're gonna have a good day, which will turn into a good week, which will turn into a good year, which will turn into a good life!"
..and Remember Allison, "I love what you are, I love what you do, and I love You!"
- Papa Ecko
Ciao!
