Kiroku Tensha Eriko goes Doctor Who - A look back at possibly the best series of Modern Who to date: Series 9

Following the momentum of my "look back" at Series 8 of Doctor who in my last post, this time I review what could possibly be the best series of Modern Doctor Who to date - Series 9.

As I have said, Series 8, despite being a great "12th Doctor Starter Pack", was a difficult and turbulent one.  Considering that statement, there was virtually no way I have telegraphed that the sophomore season of Peter Capaldi/Twelfth Doctor will turn out to be as one, if not, the best Series of Doctor Who I have ever seen since the revival (2005 - Series 1). Yes! It was great, like a movie sequel that turned out to be better than the first one!

Series 9 dealt largely with the themes of death, loss, and even immortality. It also showed us a little bit of a toned down Doctor from last season as Peter Capaldi's Doctor this time has a more down-to-earth persona, but still has the "Grumpy One" vibe he had from his debut. One thing to note about Series 9 is it was a galore of multiple part episodes which was a first for Doctor Who since 2005.

Without further ado, here is my take on Series 9:

Kiroku Tensha Eriko goes Doctor Who - My take and look back at Series 8

Okay, as promised in the last post - as a sort of making up to lack of articles - I will be rolling out some Doctor Who-themed articles for the coming days leading up to the start of a new season of the program (Series 10).  It is a given that fans will be excited for the much-awaited return of the program after a little hiatus, but it never hurts to have some little bit of a look back, don't you think?

So, for the first of my "making up" articles, I will be having a look back at Series 8.  This series marks the first full season of the Twelfth Doctor (after the regeneration from Eleventh) in the episode "The Time of The Doctor."  A look back to this season, is like an examination of Peter Capaldi's first season as The Doctor and the changes it brings to the show in whole and in part.

Without further ado, here are my two cents for Series 8:

Doctor Who goes for 10! (and Im Excited as Hell)

I guess the best way to contain my excitement and to make up for some lost time is to make some new articles about the show, right?

With all the things that life throws at me nowadays, it makes my days so fast-paced that nothing seems to excite the hell outta me.

Well, that was what I thought until I realized, I discounted that "Doctor Who" still exists in this world of ours huh?

#EffTheWin - Cat Lovers gotta play this game Right Meow! (My Neko Atsume Review)

This Cat-collecting game is surprisingly addicting, that I think we need another one like it...for Dogs, That is!

First things first, I am a first and foremost Dog lover; however, cats comes as a close second in my list of favorite animals to have around as pets as I find them as the cute and cuddly ones when compared to their canine counterparts.

Given that reason, when I stumbled upon this mobile game (which is really gaining in popularity) centered around cats and cat-collecting, it is no surprise that I was hooked with it. The game I am talking about is "Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector."

Heneral Artikulo Uno: Bravo, Superior!!! - Review of "Heneral Luna"

One word - "Masterpiece"

"Heneral Luna" - I really wanted to watch this film as early as it was released; however, that R-13 rating was a roadblock of sorts and hindered me (Why? Can't bring my kid to the cinema). Anyway, the most important thing is I found a way and was able to watch it "finally" - today.

Now, how will I describe this critically-acclaimed (both by critics and audiences) movie?

One word - "Masterpiece."

iZombie - A "No-Brainer" Smörgåsbord of mainstream TV series stuff

" iZombie is a series centered on the life of a zombie, but of course has its emphasis on the human experience."

Hey Peeps, I am posting here a personal review of "iZombie."

What? No! It is not a new app for IOS or Android..what the hell!?

Okay, It is a newly debuted TV show that has a very refreshing and cool take on the "Zombie Genre". Now, wait right there! I understand that most of you have your "fix of the undead" via The Walking Dead, but before you say that the last thing you need is another frickin' zombie show, I tell you this - This is a series you should most definitely give a shot.

Enthralled - How I became a "Doctor Who" fan (the reasons)..and will continue to be one for a long time

All of time and space; everywhere and anywhere; every star that ever was. Where do you want to start?

As I have said in some of my posts, I am just a newly-converted Whovian (about nine months and counting) and in line with that, I will be writing this blog post as a (sort of) celebration of my conversion to the fandom and also, a look back at how I got to be hooked to the show in the first place.

BABYMETAL - When Daughter's Poppy Tunes meets Daddy's Heavy Metal Music

"Babymetal's music is like fusing Sake with Sweet Bubblegum"

Can you imagine this: The Poppy Bubblegum J-Pop Idol Music fusing with Hard-Hitting Heavy Metal Music? Sounds impossible, right?...Wrong!

As of late, three teenage Japanese girls are taking on the music scene by giving a unique spin to Heavy Metal Music - fusing it with Japanese Teen Pop. Now, that is one hell of a take on one established genre don’t you think? This group’s name is “Babymetal.”

As "Kawaii" as this trio look, they definitely Rock!

The Doctor is In! The Old is the New

"As old as he may look, he is the NEW doctor"

Yes, I look OLD, but I feel NEW
In five days' time (or four, depending on your time zone), a new season or more appropriately, "Series", of the world's longest running science fiction television show - Doctor Who - will premiere. For a lot of Whovians (include me on that list), the long wait is over ever since the Christmas Special that ended the previous Series...

"Ichigaw mo cha Hangin"..Liwanag Sa Dilim!

UchuSentai:Noiz was not even in my Top five favorite J-Rock Bands...until NOW!

As for those who know me, I do love music, all kinds of it actually. However, the type of music which I consider close to my heart is Japanese Rock or "J-Rock" for short. I am a big fan of L'arc-En-Ciel and Vamps and obviously, Hyde.

On the other hand, in the local music scene, I dig the music genius of Mr. Rico Blanco (Which I consider as a GREAT influence, also).  I am a fan of him from Rivermaya Days up to his Solo endeavors recently. (I was even called Je-Rico Blanco by some of my close friends because of that)

There is this Visual Kei Band (Visual Kei being a subculture of J-Rock) that has been strutting their stuff lately and winning the hearts of local J-Rock fans here in the Philippines - that band is UchuSentai:Noiz.
