Being an animal lover runs in our family's blood and it seems that my daughter inherited that trait too. Lately, we noticed that she has this fondness for cats and she has been raring to adopt one - even a stray.
To make sure that this likeness for cats is not a one-hit wonder, me and my wife decided to bring her to a place where she can mingle with felines and get the feel of having cats around her; doing this, I can also observe if it is okay to get her a cat of her own.
The place that we took her to is none other than - Cat Cafe Manila - a small, cozy cat-themed cafe that boasts a "clowder" of them.
Cat Cafe Manila is located at the very popular Maginhawa Street in Quezon City, although I have to say that the place will involve a little chore to find because it is basically at the far end of the second floor of an unnamed building along Maginhawa Street.
Here is a helpful tip for finding it though:
ProTip: Knowing me, when I look for a certain place, I always keep my eyes open for signs and fortunately, I saw one for Cat Cafe Manila, so if you want to find the place, just look for this sign. |
Now, that is one cute mat! |
Of course since Cat Cafe Manila is a "cafe", here is their menu:
In one corner of the little cafe, there is a play section for the little feline cuties:
Cat Playground |
Cat-related Things and Stuff for the Cat Lovers are also for sale at the Cafe |
Now, time for some pictures of the cats at Cat Cafe Manila, but first here is the list of the current roster of cats at the cafe:
Checking this list, you can also see that the cats are either spayed or neutered (or both) and all are vaccinated (just in case you are wondering about that) |
..and now, the pictures of the cuties:
DOMINO - just as her profile says; Takes Looooong Naps |
KEIKO - Honestly, I thought she was a stuffed toy until I touched her and she moved ;-) |
TRIGGER - A camera will trigger this cat's fondness for pictures, knows how to pose for pics eh?! |
MAMA CAT - Named that way because she is the mother figure to the other cats in the cafe. Oh, and she is one big furball too! |
BG - I honestly don't know what BG means, but I have to say this one has hypnotic eyes |
CHAKA - Despite the name, this one is really cute and has fondness for children, as she became my daughter's favorite playmate |
All in all, we had a great experience at Cat Cafe Manila. Not only did we enjoy a relaxing time with having a lot of cats around, but we also did conclude that our daughter is really a cat lover as it was evident that she enjoys being around them.
I can say that this place is actually good for everyone, not just Cat-Lovers. Take it from me, I am really a Dog-Lover, but how I wish there is also a Dog Cafe somewhere out there that has the ambiance and the feel-good experience like Cat Cafe Manila has to offer. I suggest you give the place at least a try, who knows? You might enjoy the place like we did.
Before I close out on this feature, here are some important things you need to know if you want to go and visit Cat Cafe Manila:
- Due to the small aesthetic of the cafe, an occupancy limit is in effect; no more than 15 persons in the cafe per hour.
- To ensure a safe and orderly environment for both humans and cats alike, there are house rules that all shall abide by. These are important house rules so please be informed and read them before entering the cafe. Click HERE for the House Rules.
- If you are thinking about walking in at the cafe, then let me burst your bubble. That is a No-No as entry to the cafe is on a per reservation basis. To secure your slot, please reserve your ticket through their Eventbrite page. All tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, even if getting the ticket is through an online reservation, fees are still done upon entry to the cafe.
- Admission fee is 200 Php - 100 Php of which will go to the cats and cafe maintenance, and the remaining 100 Php will serve as a consumable amount in the cafe. It can be used as payment for either food and drinks or merchandise.
One more thing, I have to really commend the team of Cat Cafe Manila for putting up such a unique and cozy place where people can come and enjoy not only the company of relatives/friends/colleagues, but "cats" as well!
Until next time,
Meow!!...oops, sorry! I mean,
Ciao!
