“Oro” – The Rurouni Kenshin Costume Exhibit at ToyCon

"They should have also exhibited Makoto Shishio's costume. That would have been EPIC!"

Last week, the Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2014 (ToyCon 2014) was held at the SM Megatrade Hall for three days (June 20, 21, and 22 respectively). Personally, I wanted to take a visit there, but somehow a lot has got in the way (Work Schedule and stuff) that I was not able to do so.

That kinda sucks because there is one exhibit there that I was really looking forward to see and that is the Rurouni Kenshin costume exhibit. What is it? Okay, for starters it is an (official) exhibit sponsored by Warner Bros. Philippines in conjunction with the upcoming sequels of the Rurouni Kenshin film that was a sleeper hit back in 2012. This exhibit features the real costumes used in the film by Kenshin Himura (Takeru Satoh), Sanosuke Sagara (Munetaka Aoki), and Aoshi Shinomori (Yusuke Iseya). For a true blue Rurouni Kenshin fan like me, that is a “Must-See.”

Fortunately for me, my little sister had a planned visit on the second day of the convention, so I asked her to take some snaps of the exhibit and the costumes so that even though I cannot be there, through her lens, I will be able to see this exhibit with my own eyes. Here are the pics, peeps!

First stop is Sanosuke's costume:

Sanosuke Sagara's Costume - It is somehow a little bit clean here, huh?!

Then here is the costume for Aoshi Shinomori, considerably my favorite character from the franchise (who, for the record, makes his debut in the Live-Action Films in the sequel)

If you'll ask me..Trench Coats are so dang Cool!
And of course, the costume of the legendary Hitokiri Battousai himself, Kenshin Himura (Now, how I wish they also had thrown in the "Battousai" costume seen in the first film for the exhibit, that won't be asking much right? Nah!)

Iconic Costume...'nuff said!
Only Three costumes? Yeah, that was my quip too, but hey, Three is better than none right? It was really generous of Warner Bros. Philippines to exert their effort in showcasing these official in-film costumes for the benefit of the fans of the Rurouni Kenshin franchise. Kudos to them.

Of course, credit goes to my little sister too for these snaps and her effort of taking those for his "Kuya" who was not able to be there. (Thanks a lot sis, I won't be having this post if it was not for your nice pictures)

Also, one more thing...."They should have also exhibited Makoto Shishio's costume. That would have been EPIC!"

Also, don't forget to save the date peeps; “Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno” will open across the archipelago on Aug. 20, 2014, and hot on its heels will be immediately followed by “Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends” on Sept. 24, 2014.

Now, I gotta save a lot of dough for these two great movies.

No, it is two STAND-ALONE films, not your two-part sh*t like Twilight: Breaking Dawn
Until next time,

"ORO" eerr...I mean

Ciao!
